Productivity

The Lauterbach Group is committed to developing and investing in its workforce and is proud to announce the development and implementation of a continuous improvement program, the Lauterbach Productivity System. This program was developed by company staff to identify better ways to service company group members, customers, suppliers and the community.  This system focuses on internal process improvements, streamlined worked flows and sustainable improvement in the Group’s ability to reuse, reduce or recycle energy, raw materials, and time to bring more value to our customers in a responsible manner.

The Lauterbach Productivity System is a team based program where all group members participate in developing performance improvement to all stakeholders.  Group members participate in one of six functional teams; the program’s success is centered on harnessing the organizational knowledge and expertise.

Many of the tools to accomplish these tasks are very simple to learn and can make a significant difference on how work is done.  These tools are documented and measured to show what improvement has been made.
  • Teamwork – collectively we can generate better ideas

  • 5S – workplace organization

  • Flowcharting – learning to understand how our processes operate and where the waste is in them

  • Work Cells – organizing equipment, people and materials in the manner in which the product service/flows

  • One Piece Flow – flowing product (one at a time) and constantly adding value until it is ready for the customer

  • Quick Changeover – how to rapidly change equipment to move from one product/service to another (to support one piece flow)

  • Pull Systems – simple visual techniques to control the flow of product, materials and supplies so that we have them “just in time”

  • Mistake Proofing – eliminating the causes of defects and the cost in time and material associated with them

The Lauterbach Productivity System reduces lead times; lowers production costs; inventory and factory floor space, reduces raw material waste and unproductive time.
